GreenTech Atlas 2018

The Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) has introduced the new GreenTech-Atlas, which represents an inventory of green technology in Germany and its current status on the global market.

The presented data is divided into 6 sectors: energy efficiency, environmentally friendly energy generation, storage and distribution, circular economy, sustainable mobility, sustainable water management, resource- and material efficiency. The atlas contains best-practice examples of German technology and especially focuses on future opportunities offered by digitalization.

According to the analysis, German technology providers account for 14 percent of the global environmental technology and resource efficiency market within the total volume of 3200 billion euro (as of 2016). The green technology sector also offers employment for ca. 1.5 million people within Germany.
